Lowell 50 yielded podium finishes for two TOLaw racer, Cody and Wes. It also signals the end of a spectacular year for Joe Sovis, who will call it a season after a heroic ride at the gravel road race. Chapeau … Continue reading →
Top man Dan O’Neil was furious after various media outlets made claims that TOLaw was using systematic ‘mechanical doping’ for its riders. “That is a blatant and outrageous lie,” Dan said to cameras early this afternoon after eating a grilled cheese sandwich. “There is no evidence of any wrongdoing by our team. Besides, we can’t even change a flat tire, let alone install an electric engine.”
In the cold, frigid air that stands before the sun rises, TOLaw’s Cody Sovis, Wes Sovis and Joe Sovis strode forth to pick-up their packets. It was time to test their mettle against one of the toughest courses in Michigan, a 9.5 mile loop with almost 1,100 feet of climbing per lap. The Gents, dressed in black and bundled against the early October chill, went out to test their competitors and themselves.
A thundering Cody Sovis leads the race at Big M. He'll look to do similar damage at Pando.
TOLaw’s Classics riders Cody, Wes and Joe Sovis are prepping for what has been called the Spiral of Doom, the Circle of Certain Consternation, and the Whirling Dervish in the past few days. (Admittedly, all of these references came in the preceding sentence) The Pando Fall Classic is a staple of Michigan mountain biking, an annual test of late-season strength, climbing and guts.
TOLaw's contract details have leaked. They also may surprise you.
The subversive and elusive network known as Anonymous has struck again, this time targeting the details of the TOLaw rider’s contracts, specifically their incentives and conditions. The same group, famous for leaking secrets as shocking and disturbing as Iraq war lies, Guantanamo Bay regulations and the dealings of the world’s top diplomats have revealed what we all wanted to know: What Wes Sovis demands before the races. The answer: peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.

Joe is the wily veteran of the TOLaw Cycling team and he knows better than anyone how to be ready to roll on race day. Joe let us check out his Strava account to see a normal training ride as he prepares for this Sunday’s cyclocross race at Plaster Creek Park, and even more importantly, for the Fall Classics.
The power puncheur of the TOLaw squad offered up his Strava account so we could take a look at a typical training ride for the fast man from Interlochen. Wes is currently working on his form for the KissCross Cyclocross Series which begins the very Sunday at Plaster Creek Park in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Already known for his impressive and powerful style of riding, Wes is fine-tuning his pedal-mashing ahead of the CX and Fall Classics sneaking up on racers, beginning September 11th.
TOLaw, perhaps the most well-known cycling team to debut last month in the middle of the season, has always used technology and research to improve its riders. The “Czech Tech” snippets on Twitter have received raving, almost creepily enthusiastic reviews and have given fans a chance to try out cutting edge technology on their own. (Sample: Need a singlespeed bike? Pick a gear and don’t shift. Voila.)
Now you can follow the TOLaw Cycling team on Strava by looking up their profiles on the cycling GPS site Strava. Check out distances, times, King of Mountain titles and other cool stuff, all while keeping tabs on the coolest wheeled humans on the face of the earth! Joe will have a Strava account soon, but in the meantime, the Sovis Bros and Dan all have data logged from last week. And what nice fellows they are as well.
